As a result, I pursued both the CSCP and the CPIM because of how these certifications align with what I centrally do: finished goods and inventory planning / management.  I felt that learning the textbook principles and strategies of end-to-end supply chain, along with the textbook methodology and principles of planning and inventory - there is no better way to improve upon what I already know and what I already do!  Added bonuses: I can follow along with more clarity on a discussion with C-level executives and host presentations using proper supply chain lingo.

During my last 9 years specifically in Supply Chain, I had learned finished goods' planning and contract manufacturer management using "scrappier" methods.  Although it was awesome learning the tricks of the trade through some true supply chain leaders, I wanted to learn the textbook knowledge of supply chain as well as gain credentials that could help me pursue professional roles of higher stature.
